Another web site complete:

ssmithphotography.com

This one is for my Fiance’ Shannon.  I can’t take all the credit for this web site though.  I showed her how to use FireworksMX and she made most of the graphics.  I’ve turned it into a web site.  I’ll be adding photo galleries on a continual basis I suspect.

I’ve bought a domain name and posted what I have for the Red Tide Coalition web site.

I choose Red Tide Florida as the number one keyword on the SEO end, because it’s the most searched for term related to Red Tide.

This site has a static front page (that will be stuffed with keyphrases) and a WordPress blog inside where the owner of the site will add the content for the site.

Google has confirmed the existence of the fake AdSesne ads. Normally google adsFake Google Advert 1 advertise things that are related to the textual content of the web page you put them on. Well if you’ve somehow downloaded this particular Trojan Horse (probably unknowingly from a malicious web site), when you edit your web sites this changes the code in your google ads.

No longer do they advertise anything related to your subject matter but instead advertise the things that are banned by google for it’s AdSense program. things like gambling, cheap Viagra, hot naked chicks, home based businesses etc.

It’s is unknown at this time how this can be fixed or how exactly it works.

Republican Sen. Ted Stevens of Alaska, chairman of the Commerce Committee, gave a warning to the internet publishing industry that if it doesn’t develop a content rating system themselve, congress will do it for them.

Tim Lordan, executive director of the Internet Education Foundation, said about 75 percent of Internet pornography comes from overseas, beyond the reach of U.S. laws. He said parents play a crucial role in keeping unwanted material away from their children and that a rating system would help.1

Currently I’m working on a premium web site for O Pescador restaurant. O Pescador (which means “The Fisherman”) is a Portuguese Restaurant serving authentic Portuguese foods and wines.

Update:
St Petersburg Portugese Restaraunt is what I choose for the number on SEO Keyphrase for O Pescador.

And I’m also working on a Content Management System (CMS) for a new charity called the Red Tide Coalition. A domain name hasn’t been chosen yet. I think I’ll be using the Xoops CMS. I’m also considering setting up a blog for the small (for now) charity.

Is all the difference between a blog and a Content Management System all just relative? Is it a matter of how a site is authored and maintained? Is it just a matter of which software you used to build the framework of the site in question? Is it a matter of how the content on the site is diplayed?

Some things blogs seems to have in common:

  • They display content posts (or articles) in a chronological order
  • They have some very nice graphical themes
  • Since they do less than CMS’s, they are easier to operate

Content Management Systems on the other hand:

  • Display content in numerous “blocks”
  • Are more likely to fill the whole page
  • Do far more things than just publish articles and links
  • Sometimes can be downright ugly
  • Because of there ability to do so much more, they are usually more difficult to operate and setup.

Here’s some examples:
