Florida Senator Dave Aronberg came to Southwest Florida to hand out free money. The state has a relatively new program that, if you qualify, will match your money in order to make you, your home and your family safer for a hurricane.

It’s called My Safe Florida Home and hundreds right here are already taking advantage.

The Kaffs are one of many families in Florida getting a big check from the state. The say the matching $5,000 grant will help pay for their new windows and garage door.

“The help from the state lets you do it sooner and I think it will promote a lot of people to do it,” said Port Charlotte homeowner Doug Kaff.

The Kaffs say the big thing is to just go ahead and get the inspection. That way you know what your house needs to be hurricane resistant.

The state will provide a free wind inspection on your home - even if you don’t qualify for the grant.

Today was the last day of full time on site work at Home Inspections LLC. For those of you who didn’t hear of this massive data project, let me quickly recap:

Home Inspections LLC (HILLC) was granted a contract by the State of Florida to participate in the “My Safe Florida Home Program.” This is an ambition program designed to help harden all the homes in Florida against hurricanes. Before any work can be done on the homes, data had to be collected about the individual homes. That’s where HILLC fits in.

Dream Designs by Texx Smith LLC (which markets through the sites titled: St. Petersburg Web Design or Florida Web Design), has just landed a fat sub-contract with Home Inspections LLC (which has a web site titled Florida Home Inspections). This project involves the totality of the IT department for Home Inspections LLC.
Some of the specifics:

• Receiving databases from the state of Florida
• Setting appointments with home owners listed in that data and adding appointment info to that data
• Sending this data back to the state and to Home Inspectors in a wide area going from Florida’s west coast to it’s east coast.
• Enabling Inspectors inthe field to add Home Inspection info to exsisting data
• Retreiving this data from these Inspectors
• Adding more data to it
• Sending it back to the state
• Network and workstation infrastructure for main office
• IT related startup services for 4 other divisions

Dream Designs by Texx Smith has added some staff, assimilated alot more staff and will be adding more staff soon. If you need a job, live in the St. Petersburg area, and have a computer background, please contact me. I’ll be adding staff with a widw range of backgrounds.

Temporarily Dream Designs by Texx Smith LLC stopped taking new clinets in all areas so we could concentrate on meeting the tight deadline of this project (That’s right, I got this up and started in 1 week!).
