E-Mail Marketing – Service or Server

Let's explore e-mail marketing delivery methods

When launching a large e-mail campaign it’s wise to ask “Should we use a company like MailChimp or Constant Contact, our own mail server or should we use a commercial e-mail server to send our mailings?”  Here’s your choices Mr. Executive:

  • Your traditional E-Mail Delivery Methods
  • A free e-mail account
  • An E-Mail newsletter service provider
  • Dedicated space on a private server

It’s good to ask this question and carefully consider the answers because there are advantages, disadvantages and risks to each choice.  We can’t give you a definitive answer that works for all businesses and all e-mail campaigns.  There is once choice that is more obvious than the others so we’ll start there. Subcontract – Atlanta Area

A new Internet Marketing Division for an established Atlanta Web Development Company.

Web Design Example

One of the marketing web sites made for this client

Sometimes we are hired to do work for other Web Design or internet marketing firms. Often they just me, sometimes they want my whole staff. In this case, I’ve been hired on as a sub-contractor to start up the brand new Internet Marketing Division of a well established and successful Web Development company in the Atlanta GA area.

I worked with the business owner and revamped the companies web site to a “you based” conversion driving sales tool with a conservative, professional yet colorful web presence. I also created a new web site that specifically speaks to one of the new services. That’s the part anyone could have done. What I was brought in for was helping creating this new division at this established company. Specifically I helped to define or created: Continue reading “Subcontract – Atlanta Area” »

Which Browsers and Devices are Used the Most?

It’s an important questions for web designers and web design managers. Especially when it come to the more specific question of Which version Of Internet Explorer (IE) are people using.
Nowadays with the advent of HTML 5 being released into the wild and CSS 3 being released into the wild, both before they are even finished by the way, it’s important to know which features you can use in your web designs because most of these new features don’t work in all browsers.

If you turn to Google for the answer to this question you’ll most likely be pointed to a one of the big tech websites like twocows.com or something and there you’ll see an old or a newer chart that shows how many people visited the web site and what browser they were using.  The problem is that they are a tech web site visited by Technical people.  Technical people on tech web sites are far more likely to use web browsers likely Firefox and Opera and less likely web browsers like IE and Chrome because of the security and social issues involved.  (IE is part of a scheme to monopolize the world computer and internet technology, while Chrome is too, it’s also actively defrauds advertisers by making all typed in addresses count as click on an advertisement when it wasn’t.)

So we checked our clients websites, We tried to get a wide sampling of “typical”web sites that have mostly U.S. Based web traffic; we are using fresh (last 30 days), combined data from several web sites and averaged it together and then rounded the results to the nearest whole percentage point:

Here’s what we found (to protect the clients, we are used percentages, not raw numbers):

Just in case you have questions about what type of comments will be published here since we’ve switched to a “dofollow” blog, we’ve wrote up some commenting guidelines. Basically they all boil down to four simple rules:

  • No Adult Content
  • Comment on the content of the article you are leaving a comment on
  • No rip off sites
  • No direct competitors

Pretty simple whuh?

Changing to a “DoFollow” Blog – Positive Signs

Hello everyone.  I’d like to welcome all the new readers and subscribers we’ve gained in the last month.

We realize the comments were approved kinda slowly the first go around.  We were a little worried at first but after 30 days, we have exceeded our goals of new subscribers by 200%!

DoFollow Blog Label - LargeWe’ve made some changes to our comment approval processes, so you should notice a huge difference in approval times.  Down to less than 48 hours is the goal.

We’re reading each and every comment that’s left here.  We’re deciding whether it’s a legit comment or if it was some automated words spit out on millions of blogs across the world by a “comment bot”.  this process was a bit new to us as we’ve never had this kind of volume before.  If we’ve rejected your comment, we’re sorry.  Please try again.  We believe that we’ll be able to pick out the human made entries 90% or more.  Once you’ve been established you’re comments can get auto approved after your first one is approved.

Another way to get faster and more consistent approval of comments is to use your Gravatar or Comment Luv ID when filling out the comment form.  CommentLuv may be strange to those of you not in the blogging industry, but it, combined with “DoFollow” are ways of repaying those who take the time and effort to write thoughtful comments to the articles in on this blog.

How is giving a link helping someone, and what’s different about a DoFollow link?  Well this page on DoFollow may help.  For those of you who already know It’s probably still a good idea to check it out every know and then as we will announce our comment policy s soon as we can shape it into words on the DoFollow page.
