I will be out of the office until tomorrow afternoon, but if you have an urgent situation, please call. Server’s run 24 hours a day, every day, so I provide tech suport 24 hours a day.

Baby Day

Today’s the day!

I’m writing this from the hospital, where the wife is in the beginning stages of labor. I don’t usually ever close the office for anything and the office techniclly isn’t closed. If you need emergency support, please feel free to call. However if it isn’t urgent please hold calls until the day after tomorrow.

The Baby’s coming, the Baby’s coming!

Baby Bed Some of you out there didn’t even know that my wife is having a baby in a couple weeks. The wife just came back from the doctor and she says her and the Doctor feel the baby (Nicholas), is going to come a week earlier than expected.

Wait . . .

That would mean the Baby will be here in a week??? !!!

I’ve got to get away from the computer and finish putting together the new baby furniture! Oh ya, we’ve already chosen a name: “Nicholas Bryce Smith.” I’ll wait till his birth announcement post to tell what each word in his name means.

Wish me luck and ask me for a cigar!

As I always say about closing the office for anything “Dream Designs by Texx Smith is open 24/7/360 – 20 hours a day, 7 days a week, 360 days a year. Sure we take a couple a days off every year for Christmas, birth/death in family, but we always remained committed to being there when we’re needed. So feel free to call or e-mail anytime, client or potential client.

shannon-maternity-ft-desoto-beach-640x480-3062.jpgShannon herself is doing great. She wants the whole birth thing to hurry up and be done with. Shannon at Ft. DesotoOf course most 8-1/2 month pregnant women probably feel that way. She’s a little nervous about what the delivery will be like. She been watching the 24 hour childbirth channel on cable TV on her days off (I still can’t get her to stop working!), actually a collection of channels, who knew there would so many women giving birth on TV!
We took some glamour/maternity photos of her on Ft. Desoto Beach the other day. Here some shots of the best ones.

This may be the Death of all Web Developers

Is it a subtle attack, a way for those who don’t understand us to rid the world of “our kind”? I don’t know, but this developement just may kill every web developer out there:
Scientist develops caffeinated doughnuts

They know we need our caffeine, they know we can’t resist free doughnuts. All they have to do to kill each and every web developer, programmer, etc, is to dump a big pile of these in conference rooms across the world and whisper the phrase (free doughnuts in the conference room” and computer geeks across the world will eat them until they overdose on caffeine and sugar!

Dastardly Evil Genius Plan!
Sugar, Fat AND Caffeine! It’ll be the death of all computer geeks!

New Mac commercials

Ok I”m certinley not a huge fan of Microsoft windows by any means. But I’ve administered Macs and PC’s before and one of the only good things I can honestly say about Windows based PC’s is that they beat Macs in every single category except for the cute keyboard category of course.
A certian pet peeve of mine is that it really burns me up when people lie to my face, even if it is an advertisement. So you can imagine that those mac adverts (“Hello, I’m a Mac” . . .) really just burn me up. So I was delighted to see these ad parodies:

And Baby makes Three !

Just a little personal note to keep people informed on the happenings in my life lately. We kinda have a cycle of life thing going on here . . .

My Mother died back in July. I haven’t written about it until now, because I just wasn’t sure what to say. To you the truth I still don’t know what to say. So I’ll just stick to the facts. My Mother died after a long battle with esophageal cancer. This was her second battle with cancer. Her first was back in the early 1980′s when she defeated Hodgins Lymphoma. She is survived by her husband, daughter, recently adopted son, two brothers and myself.

And with life passing one way it passes another:

My wife, Shannon is pregnant. She due with one child sometime in April. We will be calling you for your old baby clothes, cribs, sippy cups etc.
Just kidding! For those of you who like to count such things, yes, we conceived shortly after our honeymoon in early June.

Well that’s all the personal news for now. Have a good day and keepsending me content!
