Whoops! Don’t forget to pay the domain name bill!

Unpaid fee closes state debt groups’ Web site

Talk about irony! An association of debt management offices, who together manage billions of dollars of government debt, has had its Web site closed after it failed to pay the $35-a-year fee to keep the Web address registered.

The World Association of Debt Management Offices (Wadmo), a forum for treasury officials from more than 40 developing countries, ran the wadmo.net Web site, but the domain name expired on January 15.

Domain Bank, the domain name registrar, charges just $35 a year to register a “.net” internet address, or $250 a decade

Some of my clients manage their own domain names – Let this be a reminder – don’t forget to pay those yearly fees, or your doamin name registrar will take down your site! For those of you who let me manage the domain name fees and hosting, don’t worry, I’m not about to let something so important be forgotten!
